With 3D printers becoming increasingly common, and the wasted filament from printing becoming an increasingly important issue, we present the newest and best solution to reduce the wasting of precious materials: SimpleSpool™'s Model Alpha. The Model Alpha offers a simple, user-friendly, and affordable way to convert 3D printing scraps into fresh, usable filament while enabling small-scale users to get into filament recycling. Unlike leading filament recyclers that remain out of reach for the average DIY enthusiast, this build-it-yourself design makes filament recycling more accessible to consumers without compromising performance. A state-of-the-art spooling mechanism prevents tangling and ensures smooth operation during the spooling process. Special safety features of the device include a fully covered insulated heating element, which protects against user burns during operation, as well as sealing in the thermal insulation. Additionally, the accessible design with removable panels streamlines maintenance and assembly, as well as providing attractive aesthetics. The Alpha Model also offers full control over extruder speed and temperature, as well as winder speed controls. Combining functionality, safety, ease of assembly, aesthetics, and affordability, SimpleSpool™'s Model Alpha empowers makers to take sustainability into their own hands—turning yesterday's scraps into tomorrow's creations.
