Abstract

SimOne is a shaker table that utilizes two stepper motors to create linear, orbital, and double orbital motion. SimOne was designed to be used in a laboratory setting to mix test vials during experimentation. One stepper motor is connected to a flywheel that attaches to the shaker plate. By implementing rails, this stepper motor can produce linear motion utilizing a Scotch-Yoke mechanism. The second stepper motor is connected directly to the shaker plate to produce orbital motion. When used in tandem, these two motors create the double orbital motion.
