Abstract

SafeQuake Systems™ has developed a shaker table to agitate cell cultures in a controlled environment. The SafeQuake Systems™ shaker table features a compact design to move set vials in linear, orbital, and double orbital orientations. This motion is performed by using two stepper motors with belt and pulley systems which move the carriage along linear rails and rods. This system is implemented into a handheld touchscreen remote, allowing the user to stand a meter away from the moving system. Our team’s goal focuses our passion for ease-of-use and our skill for designing compact machinery into a shaker table that holds the economic potential to be scaled into an entire ecosystem that allows labs running several machines at once to continuously run tests and check results. Meanwhile, the user is able to start and check progress for the machine via a handheld touchscreen interface. The compact and low-weight design, quiet performance, and advanced user interface set the SafeQuake Systems™ shaker table apart from competitor designs.
