Abstract

RACD was created by a tenacious engineering team by recognizing the critical impact rapid vehicle camouflage deployment has in tactical situations. We integrate mechanical design with real-world military field experience to create resilient solutions that withstand unexpected, harsh conditions without compromise. Our economic driver is providing safe and dependable solutions that both automate and standardize deployment and implementation to minimize human error and involvement to prioritize soldiers’ safety.

RACD is versatile and resilient in extreme environments and terrains; tested to function perfectly through freezing temperatures, monsoon rains, and hot sandy deserts. With a total of just four subassembly components, RACD is efficiently assembled and disassembled with minimal soldier man-hours to fully deploy and retract the camouflage netting in strenuous situations. Each component was carefully designed using nominal sizes to ease repair and replacement. RACD is fully mechanical and does not require any power source, making it resilient against electrical issues and resistant to complicated errors. With hand crank and battery powered drill deployment options, RACD gives soldiers a fast and safe vehicle field in camouflage solution.
