Abstract


In the world of engineering 3D-printing is the hammer of prototyping–a commonly used and reliable tool for prototyping. WindUP™ revolutionizes 3D Printing by creating a seamless ecosystem for recycling PLA filament; we make circular manufacturing the norm. WindUP™ provides the industry leading platform for repurposing PLA scraps optimizing resources for businesses and hobbyists. We convert PLA scraps into new spools by utilizing a proprietary diameter control system, reliably producing precise and high-quality recycled filament. The WindUP Revival™ is a unique diameter control and winding system that takes an input of melted recycled PLA filament and creates a new, accurate spool of 1.75 mm filament that is ready to use in any 3D printer. Our product features a structural design that minimizes size footprint, while maintaining a professional appearance that would make a great addition to any 3D printing setup. Diameter and temperature controls are fully automated, making for an intuitive user experience that both hobbyists and industry professionals can use. WindUP™ aims to make circular manufacturing the norm–optimizing resources and reducing waste for a more sustainable future in 3D printing.
