Abstract

C.U.B.E.S.A.T. aims to create a resilient, versatile, and maintainable core-XY shaker table to aid in the research of recombinant DNA by providing selected cells proper culture aeration, prevention of microbe sedimentation and biofilm formation mitigation. By utilization a cost effective protype and environmentally friendly production process, C.U.B.E.S.A.T aims to support and catalyze American economic growth. Main features of the C.S.D include a simplified user interface, variable belt tensioners, DC motor driven belts, a suctioned base, and optical density and fluorescent intensity (OD/FI) measurement capabilities. With a user-friendly interface and easy navigation, the user can decrease cell research time and experience increased satisfaction. Variable tensioning provides the user with the ability to easily remove the belts for maintenance, further extending the C.S.D.’s product life. The use of DC motors with built in encoders allows for fast shaking while accurately tracking table position. Suction cups at the base create a partial vacuum to help it adhere, increasing table stability and minimizing the risk of falling. Finally, a compact and versatile design is used for the OD/FI sensor integration to account for multiple test tube and well plate configurations. Launch into the future of biomedical technology with C.U.B.E.S.A.T.’s Cell Shaking Device – experience new levels of aggravation and agitation.
